ERICA YATES, STUDIO OWNER & ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Erica grew up dancing at the Diane Kelley Dance Studio in West Boylston, MA where she earned multiple regional American Dance Awards' "Dancer of the Year" titles. She graduated from Providence College with a B.A. in Mathematics. At Providence, she was a member of the dance team and captain/choreographer her senior year. Upon graduation, she was invited to become a member of the Universal Dance Association staff. She traveled across the country hosting camps for middle school, high school, and college dance teams. Erica successfully auditioned for the Boston Celtics Dancers for the 2009-2010 season and 2011-2012 season. In addition to performing at all Celtics home games, she also represented the team abroad in Mexico City at an NBA 3X event. She put her dance expertise to interesting use at Harmonix Music Systems in Cambridge as a member of their "Dance Central 3 team," testing usability for the XBox Kinect. Erica is an active member of Dance Masters of America, Inc. (Chapter #5) and is a certified Module 1 + 2 Acrobatic Arts instructor (levels Primary through Pre-Professional 3). She is an active member of the Greater Brockton Dance Teachers Association. She was a certified Bar Method Instructor at The Bar Method in Hingham from 2016-2018. Prior to moving to the South Shore, Erica was Assistant Director at LINX Dance Studio in Wellesley, MA and a coach for the Wellesley High School Dance Team. She has been teaching and choreographing locally since she moved south of the city. Erica and her students have received numerous awards for outstanding technique and choreography in local and regional competitions.
